Post Rehab Exercise & Special Populations
Whether you are recovering from an injury or living with a chronic condition, a properly designed post rehab exercise program can improve your quality of life and get you back on track faster.
It is important to note that K’s Body Shop does not diagnose or offer medical treatment for any condition. In order for K’s Body Shop to develop a safe and effective exercise program, it is imperative that there be an open line of communication between the medical professional, client and trainer.
Contact me to discuss your specific situation. All post rehab exercise programs require medical clearance from the client’s physician.
For Clients: Many people who’ve been injured or had surgery are discharged from physical therapy before they’ve returned to full function.
Examples may include joint replacement surgery, ACL reconstruction, low back pain, etc. where you have recovered from the acute injury or surgery, can manage activities of daily living, but still aren’t back to full strength or stamina.
If you’ve been discharged from physical therapy after an injury or surgical procedure, but wish to continue making progress to get back to top form, I can help. I bridge the gap between medical care and returning to full independence and/or performance via a post rehab exercise program.
I also work with clients that are living with chronic medical conditions, older and elder adults who wish to maintain or improve their quality of life and increase their chances of being able to live independently, and pre and post-natal women.
All of these situations will require medical clearance from your physician before starting an exercise program. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions about your specific situation.
For Medical Professionals: Do you have a patient who is ready to be discharged from physical therapy or chiropractic care, but would benefit from additional supervised exercise to get back to full function?
A properly supervised post rehab exercise program can enhance function, minimize the chance for re-injury, and maintain or improve upon gains made during physical therapy or chiropractic care.
Consider referring your patient to me for post rehab exercise services, where I bridge the gap between the clinic and a return to full independence via the gym. All post rehab exercise programs are designed by an experienced and certified trainer who has a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology.
Start by downloading the medical release form, where you will indicate any specific exercise recommendations and/or restrictions, how frequently you would like to receive progress reports (in SOAP format), and how you would like to have the reports delivered (fax, email, etc). Return the form to your patient, who will present it to me during their initial assessment.
Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have further questions.
